Forager Bee

As worker bees, one of the final roles in the hive (at about 21 days old) is that of forager. These are bees that leave the hive from sunup to sunset to collect nectar, pollen and water. Foragers are of two types: scouts and reticent foragers that wait in the hive till the scouts return with information of where resources are located. It takes 5 million visits to flowers, within a 2 to 3 mile radius, to collect enough nectar to make one pint of honey. Do you see why we say, "busy as a bee" to describe a hard worker?

If there is one thing Forager 369 is all about, it is speaking her mind; maybe not the safest thing to do around the Queen. Insubordination can quickly land a bee among the dead bodies of the garbage heap.

Forager 369, however, is not your typical obedient bee. Also known as the rebel bee,
she is on a mission, and no Queen, garbage heap or bug-fellow in the kingdom can stop her.
