I am excited to include this section in my website and explain how you, as parents and teachers, can use my children's book series, Cockroach of Meadowfield, as a valuable teaching resource.
As a former classroom teacher, I know how important it is to plan unique and exciting ways to keep our students/children engaged while providing them with a rich learning experience. |
My intention is to organize a series of lesson plans and comprehension questions for each chapter. You are free to download any of the lesson plan documents I have provided, modify them to suit your particular needs, and print the necessary copies. I have also included, where applicable, the corresponding Florida State Standards that coincide with the particular lessons/activities. |
Although I will concentrate on what I see as the real strengths of these stories, specifically in the areas of science and literature, I will also suggest a variety of opportunities for interdisciplinary/cross-curricular teaching in other content areas as well. I have also included a special section of S.T.E.M. based projects to complement the Cockroach of Meadowfield trilogy.
