You are Correct.  The stream of legend is called The Waters.
The bug-fellows of Meadowfield know much about Meadow Pond, which is the body of water that is fed by The Waters.  Some bug-fellows, like Dragonfly, Damselfly and a host of water bugs live in and around Meadow Pond.  And of course, it is also the sight of the very popular Waterboatman races.

But very little is known about The Waters and very little is known about the surrounding fields and forests that it flows through.  They know that The Waters flows straight down from The Smoking Hills.  And since every bug-fellow has a horrible fear of The Smoking Hills, it makes them fearful of traveling up The Waters as well.
